Leaving Chicago, Praise for Midway

I'm at Midway airport in Chicago, waiting for my flight home from Yearly Kos.

Here's something I've never seen before: Rocking chairs.

I'm sitting in a very comfortable hand-painted rocking chair, thoughtfully placed next to a power outlet, with Wi-Fi, in the middle of concurse A between two moving runways. What a stress-free way to blog. My gate is within eye distance. I could blog like this for hours.

Cheers for Midway. More like this please.

Midway is also connected to Chicago's excellent public train system by the Orange Line. It's a great little airport in an underappreciated part of the city.

I don't know my way around Chicago enough to try mass transit. Also, I had too much luggage.
Cab drivers can use the business and I enjoy talking to them.

They have white rocking chairs in San Diego Lindberg Field too - cancelled out by the crappiest security setup I have seen to date in the US.

i've never flown out of midway, but i have driven by it, many times. every time a plane takes off or lands, you feel like its coming down right on top of your car! of course, nearly anything has to beat the "taxi across half the country" that is o'hare. lol

my brother and his family have flown out of midway a number of times (they live in chicago), apparently tickets are cheaper out of there as well. not quite sure why that might be, go figure?

I can remember flying into/out of Midway when you could park a 100 feet from the front entrance and hardly break stride from your car to the gate.

Of course then we were concerned with missles that were missles launched by armies instead of airplanes hijacked by terrorists to be used as missiles.
