Judicial Elves

After Florentino Floro Jr was fired from the Philippines Supreme Court, bad things started to happen to the other justices, "including serious illnesses and car accidents." Floro has a simple explanation: one of the three elves with whom he hangs out is seeking revenge.

Floro says the person to blame for the mishaps is one of the elves, "Luis," a "king of kings" who is an avenger. He told the newspaper that the elves help him predict the future, but he has never consulted them when issuing judicial decisions.

Did the elves tell him he was going to be fired?

    Philippine Supreme Court dismissed him after deliberating for a while because he claimed he never consulted the elves about how to decide a case.

    He was the one who told the court staff about the elves when they came to investigate because of other questionable practices.
    I wonder how many appeals for review this story will prompt.

    No doubt someone will name a hangout for legal types "The Three Elves".

    have postures something like these monkeys?  Of course, since only this now-former-judge can see these elves, we'll have to rely on his say-so.

    Still, compared to the decision methodologies and alleged logic and legal reasoning employed by some of the judges before whom I've appeared, listening to the invisible elves might not be such a bad alternative after all.
