Hillary Clinton's campaign today announced the winner of their t-shirt contest.

I like it. The graphic is so Hillary. Especially the tiny heels. Every time I got to see her in person she was wearing shoes with those tiny heels. Go on over and buy one. It will help her retire her debt.

    The shirt says nothing negative about Obama or the Democratic Party, and it's the "official" te-shirt of one of the candidates. Unless they ban Obama t-shirts I can't see how they could ban this without creating a huge scandal. Makes me wish I was going to the convention.

    At dinner last night all the Obama fans were talking about Clinton's debt, Mark Penn, loans to own campaign etc. and the nasty comments on line.  I pointed out Clinton is not requesting donations to pay back the money she loaned the campaign.  My brother sd., if she had dropped out when she should have she wouldn't be so in debt.  Whack.

    it is being reported the DNC has moved up the date for Hillary to retire the debt to vendors to July 15th from the end of July....more strong-arm
    tactics it appears.  Supposedly, if it isn't paid off by then, she won't be on the ballot....anyone else here this?

    Or they can not raise money from Hillary supporters and they want her completely out. I hope this is not true. I have no respect for the DNC anymore. I will give Hillary some more but she is the ONLY one who gets it. I sent her some when she suspended. I don't like these tactics and it sound so Donna.

    We'll be telling Obama supporters in November that if Obama had only waited until he had more experience before running then he could possibly have been president-elect Clinton's VP. As it is, I'm betting Obama will be going back to the Senate--where maybe the Dems will put their heads together and try to figure out what is this "backbone" thing....

    On a happier note, I bought the Hillary T-shirt. Thanks for the heads up, Jeralyn.

    I'm thrilled to be able to buy the shirt and help Hillary.

    of a conversation with the spouse this morning about a book I'm reading in researching my Acadian aka French Canadian ancestry and connecting with other descendants of what the Acadians still call the Grande Derangement -- when the Brits attacked the isles and caused the diaspora of Acadians (i.e., Cajuns in Louisiana, etc.).  It is not forgotten to this day.

    The spouse already is aware of my clan's research into our Irish ancestors in An Gorta Mor, the Great Hunger -- which the British also caused but liked to call a "famine" that also caused the Irish diaspora around the world.  And no, we have not gotten over that, either, as the spouse learned when we went to see the movie Michael Collins -- and he had to slink down in his seat as I found myself shaking my fist at the screen and muttering "the d**n Brits!"

    So the spouse said that it's no wonder that I am not going gently into the good night this primary season, either.  I come from a long line of people who don't get over it. Of course, we consider it an attractive attribute.:-)

    On the t-shirts, I'm donating to honor copyright and creativity, and DIY just the silhouette on a plain black tee for Dad. Yes, he's one lifelong Brand Repug loyalist who's so head over heels in love with Sen. Clinton, he's on a continual mission to mix it up with anyone who insults one golden hair on her head. (It's an honor thing.)

    Reminds me of another story, of a very classy East Coast friend to the manor born and all -- her baptismal gifts were part of a family tradition, place settings of silver already picked out when she was in the womb.  She got into the genealogy thing only to find out that, as she put it, she actually had come from a long line of liars and expert actors . . . because her anestors really were "swamp Yankees," including a hanged horse thief.  But her people were pretty smart -- since, heck, they had hornswoggled all those in-laws and others out of all those silver place settings for generations. :-)

    I married a Quebecois and I can attest to their long cultural memory, their obsession with justice, and their stubborn streak. "Je me souviens" is the Quebec motto. It means "I remember", and refers to the treatment of the French by the British going back hundreds of years. He has been very quiet about the primary (he hates to get me started), but several times he went on-line and donated money to Clinton without even telling me. I balance the checkbooks, so I found out, but I think it was sweet.

    I was just reading a mystery novel which is partly set in Acadia.  Part of the plot talks about the Grande Derangement.  And describes just the sort of determined culture you are talking about.

    Of course, Grand Derangement reminded me of CDS the first time I saw it.  (but very different things!)

    It's by Kathy Reichs and called Bones to Ashes.  I wouldn't say it was the greatest book I ever read but I like both mysteries and fiction books where I get to learn about other stuff.

    It was a difficult choice, as I liked several.

    But this one is great, and I will be ordering two -- with one for my daughter, too.  She and I already have doubles on other Hillary t-shirts.

    Somehow, though, the t-shirt looks so much better on my daughter.  I won't be ordering two in the same size. :-)

    Well, OK...buy a tee if you want one (yawn) but if that's the best we can do, there must be a graphic-artists' strike I haven't heard about.

    $$$  The fundraiser on the 4th of July to give Hillary back her 'independence' from Obama's unhelpful fundraisers wiped out half her debt with 20.08 contributions.  Pretty good.

    NOW...thank her for that FISA vote with a contribution to the campaign to pay the rest of that debt (not counting what she lent the campaign herself).

    Occasionally we should put our money where our mouth is.  This is one of those times.  Talk is cheap...campaigns, not.

    I wanted to be sure to show my appreciation for the FISA vote.  I'm on the fence on the t-shirt, but I'll probably pick one up.  Anybody got an educated guess on how the sizes run for it?  I hate buying t-shirts because s-m-l rarely mean the same thing from one place to the next.

    very small.  Turned out that style was only turned out in junior sizes, but the site didn't say so at the time (it was corrected later, it seemed).

    A different supplier may involved, though, this time.  Or they may actually be in women's sizes.  That would seem wise for the target audience.:-)

    opens doors for you that you are unwilling to open yourself. This was said when another friend lost a job that she had for years. In her case, this proved to be true. She landed a better job with a higher salary, less stress and better working conditions. Hope this proves the case for you also.

    Bought it XL, want to see if my husband fights me for it.  Wish I had some of the email addresses of a few of the Democrats I have met here having breakfast at Cutts diner.  They loved some of the Talkleft girl slogans about women and rednecks voting Clinton......those were 'Rubes and Boobs' and 'Hicks and Chicks Together Again'.  They were all guys, two of them flew the presidential helicopter through three presidencies.  They would probably pony up but alas I didn't get any email addresses.

    we're all pretty passionate about Hillary here.  I understand your frustration about her campaign debt, and I don't think you meant your post to come across as adversarial as it did, at least as I read it.

    From the comments I've seen here, most folks on this site have contributed to Hillary's campaign, even when it was not financially easy to do so. And some people just can't afford to contribute.  They should not be berated for that.

    OTOH, I contributed another $250 to retire Hillary's debt yesterday afternoon as soon as I read about her vote on FISA.  And I didn't even get a tee shirt out of it :)

    idea: help out an Iraqi mother who's kids were blown to bits. Or, maybe just an American mom who has to latchkey her kids with an empty refrigerator because she hasnt completed the fifty hoops course required before she can get daycare before she has to travel fifty miles to work.
