2,500 people signed up to attend the Emily's List Gala at 2pm today.

Barack Obama and Joe Biden will stand up for us on the issues. Wasn't Michelle Obama great last night?

With Michelle Obama, we're going to have somebody who will answer that phone.

They know what's at stake in this election. What a contrast it poses. McCain is my friend and colleage. But he doesn't believe women deserve equal pay for equal work or the right to choose.

He would turn the clock back.

I ask all of you to work as hard for Barack Obama as you did for me in the coming months.

I appreciate what you've done and we will make sure it pays off. Let's go make it happen.

Let's devote all the passion and energy we have to elect more Democratic women, more Democrats, and Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

    quotes Bill Clinton, and then follows up with some extremely effusive praise for Hillary.  Saying how no one has been more supportive and helpful to her over the last several months than Hillary.  How Hillary destroyed so many stereotypes and the notion that a woman can never be President is OVER thanks to her.  Lots of applause.

    No.

    This has been today's edition of simple answers to simple questions.

    I saw Michelle in person. She has some strange facial expressions - her smile looks tacked on, as though it's an unnatural expression, It never reaches her eyes.

    I've seen s lot of speakers and done a lot of speaking myself. She does not come across as sincere.

    and it's a shame.  Photos before the makeover, when she wore her Afro and more stylish clothing, suited her better, and her experession was more relaxed.

    Basically, the woman has been put in a costume from top to toe from the 1960s for months now.  It must be stressful.

    still will not be enough.  We know that.

    So I am unimpressed with the faux unity I see and read about.  It immediately is followed by reports that just rile again.

    And I do not forget that tonight was billed as Women's Night -- but Mark Warner is the keynoter.

    Omigod, just turned on the tv, and it's McCaskill AGAIN?  Big mistake.  Every time she comes on, it is a reminder of the nastiness.  Much like seeing Michelle Obama, sadly.  Sorry, but I'm in the state where she said, twice, that she was not proud of her country before.  And that was the least of the awful things she said.

    No takeback on those.  She could have done with a full makeover -- in how to handle it all with class, as Jackie Kennedy did, not just how to wear the same pink suit and hairstyle.

    how hard they are pushing equal pay as an issue.  Good to see.

    I only caught the end of Hillary's speech, but it sounded like she was in fine form.  I expect her to bring down the house tonight.

    Hillary Clinton is speaking because of her standing as a candidate. (If Edwards had not dq'd himself he would likewise certainly be speaking-- as someone with voters to bring to the table.)

    Bill Clinton is speaking as the only living 2 term former Democratic President.

    Todd's comments are like saying that Gore and Hillary Clinton should not both be speaking. Neither of them is speaking because they are married. They are speaking because of who they are and what they represent.

    How complicated it is for these boys?

    these speeches are at a side event and not the main event.
    I'm semi-hopeful for some of tomorrow nights speeches.
