Quote Of The Day

Digby:

The left has been pushing Obama hard from the moment he took office

Digby must be thinking of TalkLeft commenter Andreas and his organization, the Worldwide Socialist Web Site. The rest of "the Left," me included, not so much.

Speaking for me only

Clinton and Obama are both mainstream Democrats who occupy exactly the same political terrain in the party and always did. That's what made the primary so bloody.

    maybe
but it did not help that Obama was lying through his teeth on many, particularly foreign policy, points and was telling people what they wanted to hear.

    Not so sure about that ... (5.00 / 1) (#13)

understood Hillay's positions and preferred her domestic agenda to his.  On foreign policy I knew she would be a centrist.  Simply being a woman is reason enough to understand why.  But you are correct, Obama  lied and now people who thought he would be different than Hillary are angry.  My friend an ex CIA guy is furious.  John is angry because as he says, I could have had the same foreign policy but a better domestic agenda.  I was fooled he said.  Of course the Big Orange is still okay with okey dokey.

I tend to think he was having a laugh at our expense.  And quite a few people who ought to have known better enabled him to gloss over his true plans:  I'll include Ted Kennedy here.  he had to have heard the contradictions in Obama's rhetoric and planning.

disagree with this, Salo.  I would think that Obama would be embarrassed to pick up the Nobel "Peace Prize" after his troop escalation (not to mention his retreat on the public option, his retreat on DADT and DOMA, and any number of other things).

not even Rockefeller Republicanism because they had no use for the evangelicals and fundamentalists that Obama seems to continually cave to.

At this point, I'd take a Rockefeller Republican over Obama.

The majority opinion still seems to be "I'm pretty happy because I didn't expect much."  Jane addressed the same issue today.

Just wait for the internecine blog wars in 2010 and 2012.  That'll be fun.
