If you're in a reading rather than watching mode, here's an old favorite, from The Onion, How the Weed Delivery Guy Saved Christmas.

If it's just listening you want to do, I always recommend Boulder's 93.7, KBCO, which will be commercial free all day. You can listen live here.

And if you're cooking, while I'm still partial to the lasagna I made last year, tell us what you're making and looking forward to eating.

But, whatever you're doing, we wish you a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

    Has been a bit of a smorgasbord!  
    Turkey-leek pie with puff pastry (Jamie Oliver's recipe) on Thursday....delightful!

    Risotto porcini and seared scallops last night...

    Spanish Cocido stew simmering all day today...(NEVER made this one before and despite the lovely salty cured/smoked meats it still seems to be missing a bit of something....)
    Not sure what  - any Cocido experts out there feel free to chime in!!

    be the kind of ham or meat you are using. It's my understanding that there's a special ham in Spain that can't be imported here because of the process it undergoes. Obviously not an expert though.

    Wife and mother in law are making a rib roast for early Christmas dinner, broccoli with Hollandaise, garlic and rosemary new potatoes, and my wife has already made her incredible chocolate bread pudding for dessert.

    As a kid, I grew up on junk and frozen dinners. A lucky man I became.

    mom did a rib roast at her house for celebration with my side of the family. We have done this for quite a few years and it is wonderful. You are truly lucky to have a wife that cooks that well and I'm really kind of sad to hear that you grew up on frozen dinners.

    or drive through slop. or canned something or other. a microwave childhood. i like to think it built up an incredible immunity to all the chemicals i ingested. of course, this was also when our pajamas were all flame retardant thanks to asbestos. i love to think of us sleeping soundly in our little cancer suits. but don't be sad. ahem.

    lucky man i am indeed. and i can't believe how long we've been together. more than a third of my life i've been with her now. amazing. just realized the other day that she is the same age my (admittedly young) mother was when my wife and I first started dating. my wife replied simply "shut up."

    a relative like that. Served cans of beef stew, frozen means etc. No fun at all. Anyway, I never thought of those pajamas I wore as a child as cancer suits but I sure do remember them being stiff and scratchy and not liking them at all.

    My spin on my mother's Jewish noodle kugel has become our family's unofficial Christmas tradition. Last night we had Chinese food with a bunch of other Des Moines area Jews.

    If you love food blogging, you should read Patric Juillet's post about the traditional Christmas meal in Provence, where he grew up.
