Pakistan Newspaper's Alernate Reality of Osama Bin Laden Raid

Relying on information from "top level official sources", Pakistan's newspaper "The Nation" has a completely different version of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. Conspiracy theorists will have a field day.

About 200 Pakistan Army men provided ground support, top level official sources told TheNation. During the operation, four helicopters of the Pakistan Army hovered over the fortress-like hideout....

....Initially, the US military personnel opened fire at the outer wall of Osama’s hideout, which was retaliated by the house inmates with heavy gunfire. After almost twenty minutes of cross-firing, the US forces directly targeted the house with sophisticated bombs, eventually killing Osama, his eight bodyguards, seven close aides and an unspecified number of family members including a young son, children and two wives.

Then there are those who don't believe Osama is dead.

On the other side, there's Wikileaks which says Pakistani security forces helped Osama evade detection and capture. [More...]

Here's one cable:

For instance, in Pakistan Osama Bin Laden wasn't an invisible man, and many knew his whereabouts in North Waziristan, but whenever security forces attempted a raid on his hideouts, the enemy received warning of their approach from sources in the security forces.

And, it turns out Brennan was wrong and bin Laden's wife was wounded, not killed, and turned over to Pakistani authorities. (I thought they weren't there. How badly was she injured and how long did she wait for medical care? Wasn't Brennan in the situation room with Obama, Hillary, Biden and the rest watching? How did he get that wrong?)

So many theories and so few facts. No wonder the rumor mill is in overdrive.

may not have been in on the raid, but I would think that if several helicopters suddenly roared in and descended on a house, a big gun battle broke out, and then there was a pretty large explosion and fire (from the downed helicopter being blown up) and a couple helos go buzzing off again, I would think somebody would show up to see what was going on.

Apparently the Pakistani "West Point" is not made up of the sharpest tacks in the box.

How could he possibly know what was going on?

But my point is that he and many others heard the uproar and to think that the local cops wouldn't have come to investigate defies belief.  And I have no idea what the local military academy would have to do with any of it.

    begin sarcasm
Of course he isn't dead.  One has to exist in order to die.  Don't you know that Osama was just the creation of the US government to cover-up their planned attack on their own citizens.

The only reason "Osama" was "killed", is because the new budget cut out funding to make new videos "of him" sending messages to his "followers".  Dig deep enough in the budget and you'll see it right next to the cuts to WIC and public housing.

    end sarcasm

In all seriousness, there are people out there who will never believe anything Obama (or the government) tells them.  Everything is a conspiracy to them... of course, looking at that Pakistani newspaper article, I'm not sure if I'd trust the media so much.

wife as shield although a woman was killed in the attack.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A woman killed during the raid of Osama bin Laden's compound in Pakistan was not his wife and was not used as a human shield by the al Qaeda leader before his death, a U.S. official said on Monday, correcting an earlier description.
    ...
However, a different White House official said that account had turned out not to be the case. Bin Laden's wife was injured but not killed in the assault.

The US Government or the Pakistani Government ?

Not that ours has a great track record, but Pakistan is a couple of lies away from being Tehran.

The suggestion that Seals couldn't get past a wall without bombs is pretty funny.  "Silly Americans forgot explosives to blow through a known wall, yet miraculously had explosives to blow up an a chopper that crashed unexpectedly."

Sure Pakistan and we also believe that no one knew OBL was right next to your military academy.

I get the feeling they are going to goad Obama into releasing photos, like they did with the birth certificate.
