Sirius Debuts Daily Kos Radio with BTD as Co-Host

Congratulations to Armando, aka Big Tent Democrat, who will be the co-host of Daily Kos Radio on Sirius beginning this Saturday. What a great choice.

NEW YORK, NY– August 8, 2011 - Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) today announced that it will launch a live, interactive four-week radio series with Daily Kos, the influential online progressive political community, news organization and activist hub.

Daily Kos Radio will launch on August 13 at 10:00 am ET, and air Saturdays through September 3 live from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm ET on liberal/progressive talk channel SiriusXM Left, ch. 127. Daily Kos contributing editors David Waldman and Armando Llorens will co-host the show from SiriusXM’s Washington, D.C. headquarters, breaking down headlines and issues with other members of the Daily Kos community to bring the interactive experience of the blogosphere to SiriusXM listeners coast to coast.

Don't forget to tune in. And not to worry, BTD will be continuing to blog here at TalkLeft.

Just kidding, Tent.  Congrats and I feel a swell of TL pride, even though you're on the Orange Network.

Remember your vocal warmups..."A big black bug bit a big black bear, and the big black bear bled blood...(repeat)"

    Break a leg!

bring back the Armando of old?  Is the temper really tempered by the reasonable habits of thoughtful dialogue at TL?

    Let's find out!

Seriously, BTD...congrats.  More informed and thoughtful voices like yours and Greenwald's badly needed in the public forum.

Unfortunately I still only have the terrestrial type of wireless device that I think Tesla is mostly responsible for.  Not very good or interesting content thanks to the corporate parasites who've run the show from the beginning, but it is free.

I hope there's a way for us Earth-bound types to somehow get your transmissions while they're still relevant.

I love reading Armando's posts. And David Waldman is informed, smart, and quick, as well. Wonderful! Unfortunately, like many others, I won't be able to hear Tent's voice and verbal reactions, as I do not have satellite radio, and don't plan on paying for one more corporate medium. Maybe there will be podcasts, though?

Are their podcasts available on the internet (5.00 / 0) (#23)

I have for renewing my subscription.  We loved the comedy radio stations but after awhile they played the same stuff over and over again.  Congratulations BTD!

Will be fun to also be able to "hear" BTD's voice in his posts and comments here...

Now I understand the more strident tone BTD has been taking lately.  He has just been in-training and reaching for that really cutting edge of talk radio abrasiveness. (Move over, Randy and Howard.)

Also I would like to see BTD go up against FiveThreeEight (538 on NYtimes)in person.  BTD talks a good numbers game, but you never know what will happen until the opponents get "head to head" or at least "mike to mike."

    Best of luck... (none / 0) (#9)

at that time, but I will make an excuse to be and will turn off the Broadway and classical stations to listen.
BTD, If you have done radio before you will know to relax and not to speak as fast as you think you have to.  You are a lawyer right? You must have tons of experience speaking in front of people....you'll be great.

    I was thinking the same thing (5.00 / 1) (#19)

First, congrats to BTD!  I'm sure he'll do a great job.

I was also thinking that Jeralyn should get her own show dealing with crime and punishment issues and the need for prison reform in this country.  She could also be a regular guest dealing with the same topic.  It's not like there's a lack of connections...

And congratulations. If there's anything I can do to help, I'll be glad to.

by cpinva on Tue Aug 09, 2011 at 07:03:24 PM EST
will the door to the studio have to be widened, to accomodate BTD's inflated head?

    just kidding! sort of.

should i be able to access the show, i'll be curious to compare BTD's voice with how i think he must sound.

figures out how to retrieve these broadcasts after the fact, please let me know. Why?  Because BTD asked Hillary Clinton a very well-thought out and articulated question during a blogger conference call during the primaries. Quite certain this new effort will be worth listening to. Will the duo take questioners from listeners?  Twitterers?  E-mailers?  Will the first topic be Madman theory of bargaining?  The Deal?  Geithner?
