    Obama handling Romney's BS the way Bill Clinton did Bush in that clip.

    I'd like to see it, but I don't expect to.  Worst scenario is they get into a dueling deficits battle and Obama brags on how he's cut the deficit more than any president since Clinton, and no one will point out that Clinton did it when it made some kind of sense - during an economic boom - while Obama's been doing it when the economy was already gasping for air.

    I wish Obama didn't have such a need to out-Republican the GOP, and instead staked out some territory to the left of center and really made the choices clear ones.

    I also wish I would win the lottery, but that ain't gonna happen, either.

    George H. W. do a town hall made me want to say Obama has a twin out there. He's doing the same thing Obama does. He just starts spouting off stuff and everybody is like "what???"

    between Bush I and Clinton. The genius of Clinton is that he explain economic theory without talking down to people, but in clear, simple language that connects personally.

    lifetime relates to people better or explains complex issues better than Bill Clinton.

    I read somewhere, after the Democratic convention, that someone suggested that Obama appoint Bill Secretary of Explaining Stuff. Sounds like a good idea to me.

    unprecedented amp up of the war on reefer, and the bending over backwards for the finance & gambling sectors, even more perplexing.

    He relates, therefore he shoulda damn well knew better than to cause/allow so much harm.  Perhaps the greatest politician in recent memory, and perhaps the greatest disappointment.

    You can do that with Jim Lehrer - even threaten to fire him like Romney did -  but not with an average citizen. Then -  Message: I care!

    Clinton is The Connector. I don't know if Obama has that part of it in him. That Heileman article this morning spelled it out. He is not a people person, while Clinton thrives on the connection. Classic introvert v extrovert. But that said, Obama does have personal magnetism and charm to deploy, and if he uses it naturally, while answering the direct question he is asked, he will do all right.

    I think he is disciplined enough not to try to be something he is not.

    My town hall debate pet peeve is when the moderator restates the person's question and changes it completely. I fear Crowley may be prone to that.

    In that case she probably was right however. Bush let it throw him. He didn't pivot off it to the general economy as smoothly as Clinton did.

    I expect another Dud from Obama tomorrow.  He's going to try too hard and he has no record to defend.

    Media will call it a draw and the slid will continue.

    ...if Obama was like BC in any way.  

    He's closer to GHB on the deficit than BC and it's why the Clinton shtick will never work for him.  

    IOW, he can't explain it like Clinton, because he simple does not agree with Clinton.  I would imagine if the same question is asked tonight, he will flutter and twist just like GHB because their deficit shtick is campaign BS and they know it.

    He is going to need some softballs to bring this one home.  Romney has proved that lying and cheating in America brings far more success then doing the right thing.

    Problem is if he ties on the next one he loses.

    Romney is just a good debater and now the challenger has confidence.

    I see no chance that Romney doesn't at least earn a draw.

    Clinton spent 48 minutes at the convention showing him exactly how to defend it.  If Obama can't do it himself, he does not deserve a second term. And we will all be the worse for it.
