Mueller Likely to Issue Russia Report After Midterms

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is reported to be preparing a report on whether the Trump campaign was involved in Russian interference in the 2016 election after the midterm elections.

The report may not be public. (Will that stop Trump from tweeting out any statements that are favorable to him?)

I don't expect the report to find that Trump personally knew about or conspired with Russian attempts to sway the election. I doubt his aides took him seriously enough at that point to share such information with him.

What about obstruction of justice after the election? What about Don, Jr.?

I still wonder whether Kushner and the campaign's digital marketing director (hired by Kushner)who worked with the Facebook team to learn how to do microtargeting and ad placement on FB got immunity from Mueller.

has long been that Mueller's report, after being handed over to the Attorney General (in this case, the deputy, Rod Rosenstein), would be buried, or, only selected parts released to the public. The country is dependent upon the beleaguered Rosenstein, should he still be on the job and replaced by someone of one mind with Giuliani.

And, for Congress, there is that "FBI Supplemental Kavanaugh Backgrounder" for a model---Congress members allowed to read the report given a few minutes with no staff or note taking.  Probably not as effective with so many taking a look see, but, still, without the actual report, the reporting would be subject to attack by Trumpians. Outrage you say?  Perhaps, but then we do have Justice Kavanaugh.

If Trump or any of his minions selectively release good parts, if any, all bets should be off.  The whole thing gets released, even if there needs to be patriotic leaking of the document (e.g.  Pentagon Papers).

I am of the opinion that the most sure-fire approach to justice is Mueller indictments.  Then, the citizens have the Courts, I think. However, the real hope is for the midterm elections to bring Democrats to the House, and, maybe even the Senate. So much hangs on this election.

it is all going to come out whether or not Rosenstein releases it or not. However this is Rosenstein's opportunity to finally get a deep cut into Trump after Trump has spent months attacking him and threatening to fire him. There are rumors that there is going to be a big batch of indictments after the mid term elections. I guess we shall see whether that comes true or not.

It's something a generation of democrats have waited and hoped for.

Why should we take this report seriously? (5.00 / 1) (#11)

    Mueller's team never leaks.

This is coming from someone outside Mueller who would like us to believe this.
Doesn't mean it's not true. But Mueller does not leak.

    Maybe RR?
    In any case, why?

One reporter did say that this speculation was based on the flurry of activity currently taking place at a couple of federal courthouses, and a couple of attorneys working for Mueller returning to their old jobs. They said no information was given by the Mueller investigation.

Might let Donald slide.  Obstruction seems difficult to prove.  Doing it in plain sight may help Trump.

I think Donalds real problems along with his whole family are more likely to be all the spin-off investigations.  I've lost count but there's a bunch.

There was news today the FBI is looking at possibly bribery in Cy Vance office and that Ivanka and the boys may have bribed prosecutors.

That's jus one tentacle of an octopus we probably can't even imagine.  But we may get some ideas when Mueller reports.

FBI looking at Manhattan district attorney's office over potential undue influence in handling of cases: sources

In another case, the DA also failed to bring criminal charges against two of President Trump's children in an alleged real estate scam.

Vance's office cleared daughter Ivanka Trump and son Donald Trump Jr., who were being looked at for allegedly defrauding Trump SoHo investors and would-be buyers by lying about the number of condos that had been sold.

In 2012, Vance met with an attorney for the pair, Marc Kasowitz, who had previously given him $25,000. An additional $32,000 was donated after the office declined to prosecute Ivanka and Trump Jr.

don't see how Donald slides from Mueller with all the people Mueller has spilling the beans. The only way Trump slides is because he literally is an idiot and his campaign was doing things that he had no idea about. Of course, campaign doing things puts Jared in the hot seat along with the traitor tots.

Charged with conspiracy.  Will Mueller shoot the moon and indict Trump.

I sort of doubt it.  I can see him thinking why throw the country into chaos when there are a half dozen cases from the SDNY to state AGs to the IRS that will do the same thing the day he leaves office.  Which will be sooner than later.  There will be a whole new House soon.  I'm pretty confident if there was any kind of real investigation it would be pretty easy to find stuff republican senators can not ignore.  Less so because the next two elections are going to be tougher for republicans than this one is for democrats.

Still it would be something if he indicts him.

a literal indictment not a report saying Trump is guilty. I agree on the indictment. I don't think he is going to do it. Rosenstein is going to have to release that report to the public and yes, there is a lot of trouble brewing for Trump in SD NY and the NY AG's office. I think the biggest danager right now is from the NY AG who has Michael Cohen spilling the beans.
