Better Late Than Never?

by TChris

Golden rule days:

President George W. Bush's chief of staff Andrew Card and other top White House officials started attending classes on ethics and the handling of classified information on Tuesday in response to the indictment of a top aide in the CIA leak investigation.

Bush's top political adviser, Karl Rove, was expected to attend one of the classes scheduled for Wednesday.

Cheney's new chief of staff, David Addington, was also scheduled to attend, the White House said.

Bush and Cheney seem to be cutting class.

I've heard that these classes will be led by Harriet Myers :). Good to know there is still life after death... uh... I mean after being denied a warm chair on the supreme bench :).

Anyone who didn't learn ethics in kindergarten shouldn't be in the White House.

Attorney: And then what did the president order you to do? Witness: He ordered us to take ethics classes. Attorney: And what did they teach you in ethics class? Witness: They taught us ethics. Attorney: And how long did that take?

many years ago, after a dog & pony show by a congressional committee, i too was required to attend an "ethics" class. it cost a great deal of money, and we received a lovely parting gift: a wonderful bound copy of the lessons that were imparted to us that day. i note now what i noted, to my manager's irritation, then: if you haven't learned the difference between right & wrong by the time you are an adult, all the "ethics" classes in the world won't make any difference. this alone is reason to boot all of them.

"We will restore honor and integrity to the White House...Once we take some ethics classes midway through our second term." Un-freakin-believable.

And McClellen needs some help too.
Q I'd like you to clear up, once and for all, the ambiguity about torture. Can we get a straight answer? The President says we don't do torture, but Cheney --

Witness: They taught us ethics. Attorney: Did the classes help? Have you stopped acting in an unethical manner yet?

Too bad they aren't holding those ethics classes in Poland. Don't forget Poland. Or Roumania. Where the US has their political and business enemies tortured. When Dickie wore the hat to Auschwitz which said "STAFF," who knew that he meant it.
