Update 9:19 pm: CNN just called the race for Obama. He will take Ohio. Obama takes Oregon. The other networks do the same. The Denver Post calls Colorado for Obama. Amendment 64 passes.

8:38 pm: The networks aren't quite ready to project the winner, but I am. I think Romney is out of options, regardless of Florida. It's not going to be a very late night.

Update 9:01 pm: Obama: 249, Romney 191. {More...]

Obama takes Iowa! The crowds there are going wild. He also just got New Mexico. He also got California and Hawaii. CNN finally calls Wisconsin for Obama. (Others called it earlier.) Romney and Ryan both lost their home states.

Romney takes Idaho and North Carolina.

If you missed it earlier, the Dems keep control of the Senate, Republicans will keep the House.

John King on CNN is chomping at the bit to say Obama has won. Wolf tells him soon. They all agree it won't be a late night.

Somehow Chaka Khan's "Through the Fire" has become my election theme song (mostly because I listen to the 80s station on my way to work). My dad told me today he once served Ms. Khan a glass of water in FL as a young waiter. She was still in Rufus. Hah! I'm a little jealous.

1. missed following all this on TL radio and the blog

2.Huge turnout in MN... in ward 3 precinct three, Winona MN...pregistered voters: 1,116; new election day registration: 466. ...total votes cast: 1,004 !! (Obama won W3p3)

3. on a personal note, didn't even get a chance to open my coffee thermos till 2:00 pm. Didn't have a chance to eat the packed lunch...fake Oreos only..didn't matter cause I was intent on registering voters.

4. Every state should have voting day registration...

5. wrangled 2 free beers at Charlie's, post gig...made it safe home and now snacking.
